CSJ Planning has secured listed building consent and full planning permission for a residential care home for young adults with autism.

The listed building consent and the full planning permission encompassed a range of internal and external alterations comprising the demolition and replacement of a rear single storey extension with a two storey rear extension to create 6 en-suite rooms with associated communal space, ancillary offices, 4 individual self-contained flats, parking and associated amenity space and regularisation of roof lights.

The applications involved a lengthy negotiation process with the Conservation Officer and the Head of Transport in order to resolve a number of outstanding issues.

The design of the two storey rear extension has sought to sensitively alter and extend the listed building.  It reflects the design cues and solid to void fenestration and material employed on the listed building.  In conjunction with this the existing extension will be demolished by hand to enable the existing bricks to be re-used on the southern elevation of the first floor. Together this will ensure that the original appearance and integrity of The Grange is retained.
