Bristol LDF - Call for Sites

Tuesday 04th November, 2008

The next 7 weeks could be the most important for your future business, land prospects or development ambitions defining the next decade.

The Bristol Local Development Framework (LDF) enters a crucial period where the Council are making a public consultation ‘Call for Sites' which is your chance to influence the Site Allocations.

Bristol needs to desperately find more housing as the Secretary of State in her Proposed Changes under the Regional Spatial Strategy is identifying 36,500 new homes from now until 2026.

Have you got land and/or buildings that would be suitable?

  • Sites for all land uses will need to be considered for the new Site Allocations Development Plan Document, which will feed into a new Adopted Proposals Map.

This work will tie into the emerging Core Strategy for Bristol.

Sites put forward may also be subject to assessment as part of the Strategic Housing Land Availability Assessment (SHLAA).

Consultation started on 31 October 2008 and runs up until 19 December 2008.

This opportunity is only open to all for public consultation every 10 - 15 years.  Whilst the current economic market is challenging to say the least, it is important not to miss this vital stage of the planning process.  Acting now could unlock your sites for the future and failure to act could mean harder planning battles and costs in the future.

Talk to CSJ Planning now about how you can protect your interests. This can be done for minimal costs and CSJ can prepare site assessments (red line plan and land use justification summaries) which can be submitted to the City Council to be included in the LDF.

With all the reforms and changes to the planning system you really do need to ensure that you talk this through with us now to see how we can make sure you protect your interests.

Call CSJ Planning now on 0117 9272224 and ask for one of our Directors - Andrew Beard; Jeremy Bladon; or Michael Orr and we will be pleased to assist you.

Let's work together to put you in the best position to respond when the economy upturns. Do not miss this vital consultation.
