CSJ Planning Consultants Limited, comprising CSJ Planning in Bristol and CSJ Brooke•Smith in Birmingham, is one of the UK’s leading independent planning and development practices.

We offer planning and development advice to clients across the UK in the public, private, academic and voluntary sectors. Clients include national corporate and academic institutions, major residential and commercial developers, local authorities plus individual land and property owners.

We guide clients through the complexities of the planning and development control process, from pre-application stage to post-determination success, and through appeals and Judicial Reviews. We have a reputation for consistency and quality of advice and have a track record of adding value to our clients’ property portfolios and landholdings.

Company History

CSJ Planning Consultants Ltd was founded in 1995 in Bristol. In 2001 the Company acquired the Curling Consultancy and in 2004 it merged with Brooke•Smith Associates, a long-standing Birmingham based chartered planning and development practice, to create Birmingham based CSJ Brooke•Smith.

Since then the Company has grown substantially in terms of staff and turnover and in 2005 it entered the top ten list of independent planning consultancies.

The Company operates from offices in Bristol and Birmingham and serves clients across the UK.
