Description

CSJ Planning is acting on behalf of New Earth Solutions to develop a fully enclosed composting facility in the Green Belt in North Somerset.

There is an outstanding need in the West of England Sub-Region for composting facilities to assist the region in meeting its targets for diverting biodegradable waste away from landfill. The site is part of a network of sites being developed by New Earth Solutions in the sub-region.

The proposal is a sustainable development that specifically contributes to addressing the climate change agenda that is at the forefront of aims of the planning system, PPS1 and PPS10.

The very special circumstances being argued to justify development in the Green Belt are the need for composting facilities; the lack of suitable alternative premises; and the need for a network of sites to serve the Sub-region.
